Build the Right Thing
First. Not Everything.
MVP Development from $8,000
Most failed startup apps were built correctly. They failed because the thing that was built was not the right thing. We validate before we build. We scope the MVP tightly. Then we build it, launch it, and help you grow it from the data.
The MVP Is a Hypothesis. Launch It. Learn. Then Build More.
We have seen founders spend six months and $40,000 building an app that had never been shown to a single real user. They built it exactly as spec'd. The problem was the spec — it was based on assumptions, not data. Before we scope any MVP, we ask: what is the assumption you are testing? What would success look like at week 12? Who are the first 20 users, and can you reach them today? If those questions do not have clear answers, we build a landing page or prototype first, not the app. See: how much an app costs to build — our guide.
UltimaBot is an AI automation platform we have built and maintained for Steven since 2019. It started as a focused MVP — a small set of AI-powered features for a specific use case. Over six years, it has evolved significantly based on real user data, new AI capabilities, and Steven's growing business requirements. The product it is in 2026 is not the product it was in 2019. That is what MVP-first development looks like in practice: a product that launched with enough to test, found its market, and grew from there.
We build in phases. Phase 1 is the MVP — the smallest scope that can be launched and tested with real users. Phase 2 is planned after Phase 1 data. Phase 3 is planned after Phase 2 data. We do not ask you to commit to a full product roadmap before you have evidence of what the market wants. For technology-specific builds: Android | iOS | Flutter | React Native | SaaS.
Validate First
We ask the hard questions before quoting. If your idea needs validation before a build, we say so and help you structure the experiment. We would rather help you avoid a $15,000 mistake than earn it.
Phased Delivery
Phase 1 is the MVP. Phase 2 is based on what Phase 1 data tells you. Phase 3 is based on Phase 2. No upfront commitment to a full product roadmap before you have evidence.
Runway-Aware Scoping
Pre-revenue startups need to make every dollar of development count. We scope MVPs to be the minimum that can be launched and tested — not the maximum that can be justified.
Built to Grow
UltimaBot started in 2019. We are still with Steven. The codebase, architecture, and team that builds the MVP is the same that takes it to scale.
MVP Development Across Every Product Type
Mobile, web, AI, full-stack, and eCommerce MVPs — scoped tightly, built to launch, and architected to scale into a full product.
Mobile MVP (iOS, Android, or Both)
Native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) MVP, or cross-platform Flutter/React Native for both platforms from one codebase. From $8,400 for a simple mobile MVP. App Store and Play Store submission included.
Web App and SaaS MVP
Full-stack web application MVP: React or Next.js frontend, Node.js or Python backend, PostgreSQL or MongoDB database, deployed to AWS or Vercel. Typical SaaS MVP scope: authentication, core workflow, basic dashboard, and admin panel. From $6,000.
AI-Integrated MVP
GPT-powered assistant, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) document search, image analysis pipeline, or recommendation system. We have built and maintained AI SaaS products since 2019. Includes AI cost estimation for your specific use case before build starts.
Full-Stack MVP (Web + Mobile)
Web application and companion mobile app built simultaneously. Shared API layer. React/Next.js web app + Flutter mobile app. Right when your business model requires presence on both platforms from launch. From $18,000.
eCommerce MVP
Shopify store MVP, WooCommerce MVP, or custom eCommerce for non-standard business models. Fast to launch, designed to test pricing and product-market fit before investing in a full catalogue.
MVP Audit and Rescue
Review and remediation of existing MVPs built by other agencies or no-code tools. Architecture audit, security review, performance assessment. Honest report before committing to remediation cost.
The Agency That Has Maintained Its Own MVPs for Years
The agency that builds your MVP and then answers your call six months later is rarer than it should be. Francisco has been our client since 2012. Steven since 2019. UltimaBot's codebase from 2019 is still actively developed by the same team. We build MVPs we intend to still be maintaining in year three.
- —Have not spoken to any potential users about the problem the app solves
- —Want to start coding before the scope is agreed in writing
- —Expect unlimited revisions with no defined scope
- —Are looking for the lowest quote regardless of what that implies about the output
If you are pre-validation, we can help you design the validation experiment. If you are ready to build: the discovery call is 30 minutes and free.
US Founders (EST-aligned, AWS us-east-1)
US Founders: EST-aligned calls. AWS us-east-1 deployment. Steven's AI SaaS platform (UltimaBot, UltimaWriter) — maintained since 2019. "More quality than working with local companies." — Steven. US services.
UK Founders (GMT-aligned, AWS eu-west-2)
UK Founders: GMT-aligned. AWS eu-west-2. John Gowland: 8-month build. "Exceeded expectations." UK services.
Australian Founders (AEST overlap, AWS ap-southeast-2)
Australian Founders: AEST overlap. AWS ap-southeast-2. Laura Maher: "Barely notice the time difference." AU services.
$30/Hour. Not $100-200.
A 400-hour MVP costs $12,000 with us. The same scope costs $40,000 to $80,000 at a US agency. That is 2 to 5 additional months of runway for a pre-revenue founder.
Real MVP Proof
UltimaBot: 2019 MVP. Still active. Still growing. We point to a real named product with a real timeline — not a generic case study.
Architecture That Scales
We build MVPs on the same technology stack we would use for a full product — Next.js, Node.js, Flutter, PostgreSQL. No rewrite required when Phase 2 starts.
The Validate-First Conversation
If your idea needs validation before a build, we say so in the discovery call. That conversation is free. The $15,000 you save from avoiding a build nobody uses is worth more than a quick win for us.
From Idea to Live Product in 6 Stages
Every startup engagement starts with the validation question. If the answer is clear, we move to scope. If it is not, we help you find it first.
Validate or Build?
Day 1Before scoping anything, we ask: is this idea ready to build? The conversation covers: who is the user, what are they doing today instead, and what evidence exists that they will change behaviour for your product. If validation is needed first, we help you design the experiment (landing page, prototype, or concierge MVP). If you are ready: we proceed to Step 2.
Discovery and Scope
Days 1-330-45 minute discovery call. Full scope of the MVP mapped: every feature, excluded feature, user flows, tech stack, backend plan.
Architecture and Design
Weeks 1-2Technical architecture before code: database schema, API design, authentication model, third-party integrations. UI design in Figma for all core screens.
Build in Sprints
Weeks 2-12Two-week sprints. Working build on your device at the end of every sprint. Weekly written update. Direct developer access throughout.
QA, Security, Store Prep
Weeks 10-14Full QA across target devices. Security review for any app handling user data. App Store and Play Store listing preparation (mobile projects).
Measure and Plan Phase 2
Post-launch30-day post-launch support included. After 4 to 8 weeks of live user data, we review what the numbers say and scope Phase 2 based on evidence. Phase 2 is not planned in advance — it is planned after Phase 1 data.
